Straight Outta Compton (2015)

 This movie was watched on December 30th 2023.

First off I would like to say I really love the pace of this movie.

The guys that played each member of the group did an amazing job and I can't believe how much the guy that played Ice Cube actually looks like Ice Cube.

It was pretty cool kind of see how they Rose to fame and everything that they had to go through and I really loved the role Paul Giamatti played as Jerry.

It shows to this day why this music is so influential and it shows during this movie as well I would definitely watch this movie again and recommend for anybody to watch it and I would give it a 9 out of 10 or 4 out of 5 stars and I will see you all in the next review.

Jobs (2013)

This movie was watched on December 30th 2023.

At first I was skeptical about Ashton Kutcher playing Steve Jobs but I think he was perfectly picked for the role and the more I looked at Ashton the more he did look like jobs.

I really enjoyed the music throughout the whole entire movie as well.

The movie was done very very well and so is the cinematography and I think the runtime for the movie is just perfect.

The movies cast all did a very good job I especially enjoyed how well Kutcher portrayed jobs so we could all see what life was like at apple.

The rest of the cast also did an amazing job in there roles I especially enjoyed the role that Josh gad played.

I really enjoyed the movie and would definitely watch it again if I was in the mood to watch a biography esque movie and would recommend it also.

I rate the movie 7 out of 10 or 3 out of 5 stars and I will see you all in the next review.

Goals

As we get into the start of 2024 there are always a few things that I would like to work on so I guess you could call these New Year's resolutions but I don't see them as that I see them as goals for the year.

There are a couple to a few things that I am going to focus on this year to help better improve my physical health and my mental health so that I can be around for a long time especially for my family.

So let's get into what these goals are for 2024 and I will be going into a little bit of detail of why I am choosing these goals.

So the first goal has to deal with that first timer up in the top right corner as I have decided to officially quit smoking but my goal is I need to find things to replace the old habit obviously quitting this habit is definitely good for my physical health and mental health as I have struggled with quitting smoking for the last few years especially since I started smoking when I was 16 years old and I just turned 40 in December but I am also doing this goal because obviously I need to quit for my physical health but I also want to quit it because it's an expensive habit. That's all I can think for for this goal.

My next goal is to start eating better and to lose weight because I am definitely overweight because I am 6'1 389 lb and that is definitely not healthy so I want to start eating healthier meals and finding ways to work out other than just walking everywhere since I am not able to get a gym membership and I guess I could definitely write about my weight loss Journey on here when I decide to start it and I have actually kind of started the process already because my primary care physician recommended me for non-surgical weight loss and I'm going to fall through with it this time as I will try to track everything I eat with a site like MyFitnessPal and that's it for this goal.

I would say this goal is kind of embarrassing but I need to be accountable for myself I am not the cleanest person on planet Earth and if you entered my apartment you would say how can you live like this and you would think I would not be able to live on my own but this is where I'm going to teach myself to keep my apartment clean and smelling good and definitely get on a cleaning schedule for my apartment because nobody else is responsible for the mess in this apartment other than me and I am the one that has to take care of it. And that's all for this goal but it kind of leans into the next one

My next goal kind of leans into the goal above like I said and that is to become a lot more organized and to know where everything is at all times so when I start getting a cleaning regiment or I do laundry or whatever the chore may be I'm going to organize everything instead of just putting stuff say in a drawer or just leave the stuff in my laundry basket or when I have trash I need to take it out or if I have dishes in the think I need to do them Etc because like I said above I am not the cleanest person in the world and that is definitely going to change and that is all for this goal.

I think that's all the goals for now so I hope everybody has an amazing year and I hope everybody reaches all their goals and don't be afraid to chase your dreams I will see you all in the next one

Blood Diamond (2006)

 this movie was watched on December 29th 2023.

This has been one of the best Leonardo DiCaprio movies I've seen in a while and the guy that played Solomon did an amazing job as well and so did Connolly.

I really love DiCaprio's accent in this movie.

The movie with taste very very well considering it has a run time of 2 hours and 23 minutes.

The action in this movie was pretty amazing as well and I would definitely watch this movie again and recommend it I would give this an 8 out of 10 or 4 out of five stars and I will see you all in the next review

The Departed (2006)

 

This movie was watched on December 29th 2023.

I am not going to lie I did not realize how it started the cast was for this movie and it was a surprise to see Anthony Anderson in the movie as well.

I really love Jack Nicholson in this role.

I will like to say though I think the flip phone thing was getting annoying after a little while the only issue I had with this movie also is it played like I was reading an audiobook.

Leonardo DiCaprio was really good in this role as well so with Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon and everybody else did well with their roles as well.

This is a very good movie and I will watch it again sometime in the future so I do recommend everybody to watch it at least once in their life and I would give the movie a solid 8 out of 10 or 3 out of 5 stars.

John Wick Chapter 3: ParaBellum

 This movie was watched on December 24th 2023.

The action fights to start this movie was just amazing especially the knives scene.

It was a surprise to see Halle Berry in the movie as she does look really good.

The fight scenes of this movie are amazing but I feel throughout the whole series they basically use the same fight scene moves. But as far as the first three movies go I will definitely watch these again in the future because the movies were amazing and I feel out of the first three that I watched this one had the best action fight scenes in my opinion I also can't imagine how much physical energy it took to film these movies. And like I said before Keanu Reeves was the only person perfect for this role I personally think nobody else could have done it better.

I do recommend this movie if you have not ever seen it before and I would give it a 8 out of 10 and a four out of five stars and I will see you all in the next review which will either be The Departed or Blood Diamond.

John Wick Chapter 2 (2017)

 This Movie was watched on December 24th 2023.

As I said in the first movie what a sweet Mustang to drive it sucks that he ruined it.

I really love how the series decided to go International.

The action just continues to be amazing with all of the fight scenes the movie Time Wise also played really quick in my opinion it did not feel like a 2-hour movie and this movie was just as good as the first one.

Keanu Reeves did a fantastic job again and it was awesome to see Laurence Fishburne and another movie with Keanu Reeves and I also did like this movie just a little bit more than the first one so I actually can't wait until I can watch the third one which that will be the next review after this one as well. Everybody played their roles very well in this movie and the doggy is so cute also.

I would definitely recommend this movie also if you have never seen it and I definitely will watch this again in the future so I give it a 9 out of 10 or 5 out of 5 stars and I will see you all in the next review.

John Wick ( 2014)

 

This movie was watched on December 24th 2023.

First I would like to say what a sweet mustang that he drives.

I really love the cinematography in this movie. The movie has amazing action.

Keanu Reeves was perfect for the throne and I don't think anybody else could have done it as good as he made it look.

The movie plays very well following along with all of the amazing fights and action scenes.

This movie was really amazing and I could see myself watching it again in the future and I would definitely recommend this movie from you have never seen it before and I would give it a 9 out of 10 or 5 out of five stars and I will see everybody in the next review and the next review will probably be John Wick chapter 2

Mockingbird don't sing (2001)

 

This movie was watched on December 22nd 2023.

I would also like to state that this movie is based on true and actual events so if you were discretion is highly advised.

I would also first like to say that this movie was kind of hard to watch and I cannot believe what this girl could have gone through for her first 12 to 13 years how could anybody do that to their child.

I give Tarra steele who plays Katie so well especially for being cast at 11 years old for this role.

The Cinematography was done really well for this movie and the movie did not feel too dark even for the topic that this movie was covering and all the other actors in this movie did an amazing job as well and I would recommend this movie but like I said in the beginning viewer discretion is highly advised just because of what this movie covers and I would rate the movie in 9 out of 10 or 4 out of 5 stars and I will see you all in the next one.

Gretel & Hansel (2020)

 

This movie was watched on Friday December 22nd 2023.

I would like to start this review off by stating that the visuals in this movie are beyond stunning and amazing. 

Sophia Lillis does an amazing job playing her role as Gretel.  I will say though this movie is alot darker then I thought it would be and it kinda makes me feel like I'm watching a I'm Burton esque movie and yes I do get it that it is supposed to be a dark movie because it's a thriller / horror movie.

Samuel Leakey also did an amazing job at his role of Hansel.  This movie is beautifully shot as well in the cinematography is amazing and I just still can't get over how amazing and stunning the visuals are it fits the movie so well.

Even though I did not watch this movie back when it first came out though I feel like this movie would have done a lot better if it was released around Halloween instead of being dumped in January. I also feel that this movie could have gone to the 2-hour mark so we could have gotten more of the story.

I would definitely give this movie a recommendation and I would give it a solid 7 out of 10 and 3 out of 5 stars and I will see you all in the next review.

Sonic the Hedgehog movie (2020)

 This movie was watched on Thursday December 21st 2023

Now when I first heard this was going to be a movie I was kind of scared at first because I don't know how they would be able to turn it into a movie but at the same token I am kind of glad they turned these into movies because I enjoy the Nostalgia of Sonic especially with all the video games.

I would first off like to say that Jim Carrey is perfect for Dr Robotnik he played the role perfectly.

I especially enjoyed all of the technology that Dr Robotnik used as well.

This movie is definitely more toward for kids but I definitely enjoyed the Nostalgia vibe from the movie and I really enjoyed the cinematography of the movie as well everybody on the cast played their roles very well also so I would give this movie an 8 out of 10 or a three out of five stars I would definitely watch it again if I want to feel nostalgic

The Hurt Locker (2008)

 I watched this movie on December 20th 2023

ive been wanting to watch this movie for the longest time and now finally have the chance to watch it for the first time.

I would definitely like to say first that Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie were perfect for these roles.

It's so astonishing to see what our military goes through on a daily basis and I think this movie shows it off perfectly of what they go through everyday.

The cinematography is very well done and executed. The rest of the cast of the movie also did an amazing job and with the cinematography I think this was the best way to shoot the movie and I don't think any other way would have worked in my opinion.

This is one of the better military movies in my opinion but I do feel I would only watch this movie once every blue moon even though it is really good.

I also like how deep the personal stories go as well because it shows it we are all human and I really like that aspect of the movie.

So in the end I would probably give this movie a solid 8 out of 10 or 4 out of 5 stars and I will see you all in the next review

As Far as they Can Run (2022) Movie

 

This movie is very powerful and very well done and especially hits home for me because I used to do special Olympics and be around alot of people with different types of disabilities.

I would highly recommend this movie as everyone should atleast watch the movie.

This movie is also very inspiring because it shows what all of the parents, coaches and volunteers go through to help all of the special Olympians.

I am not sure what else I can say about this movie but it does show the sacrifice that we do make for people with disability like I said I highly recommend this movie and I would give it an 8 out of 10 or four out of five stars and I will see you all in the next review

Truly Disgusted.....

 

As we come close to 2024 I make this a goal every year but it always fails and that goal is to lose weight I had my 6 months check up with my primary care physician yesterday and let's just say I am truly disgusted with my current weight at the moment when I last saw him 6 months ago I was 389 as we move up 6 months I am now 402 which is unacceptable ain't done right disgusting.

I am definitely going to be moving forward to get more healthy and I think I am going to look into intermittent fasting to help me lose weight lose weight and I will do a lot more walking and definitely drink a lot more water.

I think my goals for losing the weight as of right now are just to watch what I eat and do a lot of walking and drinking water because actually 6 months ago when I left saw my doctor he did refer me to non-surgical weight loss and I'm currently working on the paperwork to get into that hopefully sometime next year which I think will definitely benefit me and when it definitely comes to the walking if I can hit a goal of 5,000 steps each day that would be amazing.

I am also writing this blog post to make sure I keep myself accountable so I can reach my weight loss goals in the future and become more healthy so I can be around for family and to better my health.

Pollo Loco (Short Film)

First off just let me get it out of the way this is a movie I highly recommend everybody watch it is a very well put together short movie with a runtime I think of about 20 minutes but I think this movie would be even better as a full-fledged movie.

It was written really by Derek Bauder who actually also stars in the movie.

All of the actors did a very good job especially for this being almost as like a suspense thriller it was very well played out the music was amazing in the movie it was shot very well truth to be told I basically have nothing bad to say about this movie I'm even having a hard time thinking of stuff to say about the movie that's how good it was in my opinion and I think I would definitely like to see a sequel to it or even if it becomes a much bigger bigger box office movie.

So I definitely recommend this movie and I would rate it a 9 out of 10.

 

Is 40 really the new 20?

I guess you could say that we've all heard this saying that 40 is the new 20 but is that really true? I guess I am going to find out since I just turned 40 on December 8th.

I feel like that I'm at a point in my life where I'm starting to slowly think about things before I do them yes I still have all of my same bad habits but they can be worked on and I feel I am learning to take things a lot more serious especially when things do not go my way and with whatever the consequences may be but I feel like I am definitely starting to head in the right direction because I finally got a but I do plan on making my goals now for the future and that will be the next post that I make I'm sorry I don't post as often but I do try and I think everybody who comes here to read all my posts and especially my reviews or comes and hangs out in my twitch stream packet from Summa non-surgical weight loss to go through with to make sure I can lose weight so I can live a long and healthy life and be here for my niece and nephew and my family.

As most of you know from the one countdown timer on the blog that says smlc that stands for since my last cigarette and the one before the one I just put up that was over 100 days that was actually a lie I never quit smoking because of stress but the current one that is up is correct and I am forcing myself to stop because I need to stop that expensive and disgusting habit.

I'm just at a point in my life where I need to take care of myself and be me whether if you disagree with me or not I need to be who I am and I need to take back control of my life before it gets out of control especially now that I just hit 40.

I also want to do this for my life like I said so I can be around for my family and also so I hopefully done the line won't have a midlife crisis LOL

So my next post will be goals that I want to accomplish now that I'm 40 and I am sorry that I don't post as often as I usually do but I am trying and I do think everybody who comes here at least to read my reviews and my post it is so much appreciated you don't understand so is 40 really the new 20 I guess I'm going to have to find out before I hit 50.

Culver's Review

I was coming into this review as I have never had culvers in my life up to this point in my life because it was just just too far from where I live but I decided to make the journey down to Canton, Ohio (Belden Village Area) to go and try culvers because I keep seeing advertisements for them. So the score would be a bit higher on my rating but I'm a dummy when it came to finding this place as I got on sarta bus number 45 at 1015am as it departed from the belden village transit center as I was thinking it was going to go by the restaurant and it didn't so I did not get to the restaurant till almost 12pm but I'm putting this on me I'm a dummy and after I finished basically walked all the way back to the belden village transit center but enough of this let's get on with the actual review.

I arrived at culvers just before 12pm and well and hungry so I decided to get the classic butter burger with all the toppings that usually come on it and added sautéed mushrooms and raw onion and the burger was fantastic all of the ingredients were fresh and the burger was extra buttery and delicious and as my side igot the Wisconsin cheese curds with no sauce because I was not sure if I was supposed to use sauce and they were nice and warm and fresh from the fryer and I would definitely get the cheese curds again and as for desert I decided to get a chocolate chip cookie dough concrete made with chocolate ice cream and boy I wish I had gotten a second one as it was that good. 

Now back to the burgerit was so fresh warm and delicious the only thing I could compareĺ it to would be is if I made it at a backyard barbecue  with family it was that good.

As for the restaurant itself it was very clean, net and tidy and looked amazing.

The staff was very friendly and greeted me as soon as I came in and the young lady who was on register was very polite and helpful as this was my first ever time here and had answered all of my questions if I had any.

I think my meal was also reasonably priced it came out to a total of $16.50 which I think is a good deal I think the only thing I would change next time is I would get a single Patty instead of a double.

Let's just say if I'm in the area again I will come back to Culver's because I had an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend this list and on a scale of one to 10 I would give my experience about an 8 out of 10 it would be higher but I'm taking points off for me being a dummy and not being able to find the place.
